Long Ban Ancient Pagoda


Long Ban Ancient Pagoda, or called Lang pagoda is the spiritual tourism destination for researches of the visitors. The pagoda was constructed following ancient architectural style and decorated with unique arts, especially, balconies were curved with pictures of phoenix, flowers and worshipping places were encrusted with pictures of dragon, phoenix, horizontal lacquered boards and parallel sentences were red-lacquered and trimmed with gold skillfully. Inside the pagoda, there are many ancient copper Buddhist statues and one Dai Hong Bell ancient.
With typical historical and cultural values, Long Ban ancient pagoda was recognized by Ministry of Culture and Information as the national arts and architectural relic on 19/04/1992.

Long Tan Cross Stele

Long Tan Cross Stele was built by Astralia royal military in Long Tan commune, Dat Do district on 18th August 1969 to memorize Australia soldiers killed in the South Eastern battlefield in the raid having the combination between Australian military force and New Zealand military force on 18 August 1966. This stele is made from reinforced concrete, has the shape of cross which is simple but this displays the mark of Vietnam's war history. There have been thousands of veterans of Australia royal military coming here to memorize their dead comrades as well as publishing the articles about this cross stele. And on November 16th 1988, the Ministry of Culture and Information recognized this cross stele as the national level historical vestige.


Thuy Duong Beach in Vung Tau


Going along the road 44, passing through Nuoc Ngot Mountain pass, visitors will reach to Thuy Duong beach. Thuy Duong Beach located on Phuoc HaiDat Do district. Minh Dam Mountain Revolutionary Base

Located on the Dat Do district, Minh Dam mountain with forest, caves is the resistance base of people and army of Ba Ria - Vung Tau during the 2 war. To memorize 2 sacrificed district party committee 2 sacrificed, Bui Cong Minh & Mac Thanh Dam, the mountain was put the name, Minh Dam. In 1993, Minh Dam Mountain was conferred the title of historical  revolutionary monument. Today, this place is a attractive resort for mountain climbing activities, tripping and educating history for pupil and student.

Monument And Memorial House of Vo Thi Sau

         Located at the Dat Do cross road, Phuoc Long Tho commune, the house witness the childhood of Vo Thi Sau. The house has a specific traditional architecture of Vietnam country side. The wall of the house is glazed with planks, roof covered with title. In 1990, People committee of Dat Do district has repair  the house of the people national army forces heroin, Vo Thi Sau.
         A park with Vo Thi Sau statue monument was built at the position of 100m far from the memorial house. There are many magnolia. Lekima trees in the park. The Vo Thi Sau statue has 7m height. It created by Thanh Thanh artist. The statue describes the situation that Vo Thi Sau coming to execution ground with saunter posture.

Loc An Seaport in Vung Tau

On the National Highway 51B to Ba Ria, returning to the way to Long Hai town to Minh Dam mountain, we will see Loc An seaport. Loc An has beach, river, forest so that it is suitable for ecotourism of youngsters. There visitors can row boats in Ray River, tour Minh Dam mountain. If you want to reach Loc An beach, you must use canoe of fishing basket for crossing a large pool. The Natural Reserve of Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu

The natural reserve of Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu was established in 1984 in Xuyen Moc district with an area of 11,293ha. This is the only natural forest left in the South of Vietnam with the diversified values. The reserve has many rare wild animals which are listed in the World's Red Book. Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu forest is a famous forest in South of Vietnam. On 9 August 1986, the Council of Ministers signed the Decisions No.194 to list the forest in the Category of National Forbidden Forests. Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu forest is a community of diversified landscapes,  attracting a number of domestic and foreign visitors.

Nui Dinh in Ba Ria Vung Tau

Located near the highway 51 in Ba Ria township and Tan Thanh district, Nui Dinh is shaped as a bow and has  the direction of South East - North West... The highest peak is Ong Trinh mountain and the remaining is slope towards two directions. Previously, this area is a primeval forest and diffcult and dangerous mountains. Making use of such terrain in the end of 1952, Ba Ria city Party Commitee moved in secrecy the operational base from Sac Forest to Dinh Mountain. During the two wars, Dinh Mountain is the safe base to protect the units operating in the South-Eastern battlefield. Dinh Mountain has been recognized as the historical and cultural vestige in 1993 by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Long Phuoc Tunnel

Locating in Long Phuoc commune, Ba Ria Township, due to  the important military strategy, Long Phuoc happened the drastic dispute between our nation and the competitor during two resistance wars. In this area, a system of famous tunnel was established. Tunnel clusters are linked to one another by a fundamental road with food trenches, fortified positions, medical station as well as the store of weapons. The tunnel is the brave fighting base of our Tunnel has been recognized as the historical and cultural vestige on January 9th, 1990 by the Ministry of Culture and Infomation.

Ba Ria Circular House

Located at the centre of Ba Ria township, Ba Ria Circular House having a relatively-special shape, was built at the time of French period. IT has the shape of a roofed round water tower of 20m high, including 8 pillars and a working house below functioned as a base. On August 25th, 1945, the revolutionary flag was hanged on top of the tower. Tens of thousands of people took part in a meeting and rose up to seize the power form French colonial and its feudal lackey. On May 1st, 1975, the South was liberated; Ba Ria City Party Committee organized a meeting at the Circular House to  congratulate the victory. Ba Ria Circular House was recognized as the historical and cultural vestige on 5th June 1987 by the Ministry of Culture and Infomation.

Hon Ba in Vung Tau

Hon Ba is 200m far from the Small mountain. If standing at Nghinh Phong cape, it is able to see a small island where sea waves create white bubbles at the foot. That island is Hon Ba. Hon Ba is a beauty spot of Vung Tau where calls a lot of tourists coming here to enjoy the sea waves and pray at the temple here.

Along with Ha Long highway and passing Bai Dua, Visitor will come to Nghinh Phong means "to welcome the wind". In this area, it is windy all year. Bai Truoc in Vung Tau

Located in the Southwest, Bai Truoc Vung Tau is also called "Tam Duong" ground. Bai Truoc looks like a crescent learning its back againts the inland, with Tuong Ky an Tao Phung mountains at two ends, The romantic nature creates a poetic scenery of a landing stage for ships. Along Bai Truoc, there are alot of coconut tree and tropical almond tree lines shading over the park area for pedestrians. The center of Vung Tau city is located in Bai Truoc with a lot of modern and luxurious buildings  and hotels. which features Bai Truoc with an ancient and modern beauty.


Phuoc Lam Tu

       Located on Nguyen An Ninh street, Vung Tau city, Phuoc Lam Tu have a history of 200 years. This is a monument with beautiful scenery and architecture, and with a variety of statues. Beside the lotus pond, there is a Quan Am Nam Hai statue with the height of 3,5m. The central chamber are disposed with statues such as: Di Da Tam Ton, Thich Ca A nan, Ca Diep, Phat Nhap Niet Ban, the woody statue of Chuan De, the terra-cotta statue of Ong Giam. Particularly, Phuoc Lam Tu still reserves a stone statue of Vish Nu, which has the date back to the late period of Funan - Chenla ( about the 7th century) and is of antique value ( Vish Nu spirit is the universe protector popular in Champa tower in the central area). Phuoc Lam Tu shrine is local buddism center where many tourists come for sight seeing and burning incense.

Linh Son Co Tu


       Linh Son Co Tu is located on the ancient Hoang Hoa Tham, though not huge, vast, but the oldest pagoda in Vung Tau.
       Initially the pagoda was built on a Nho mountain, but in 1899 this area was the French war to build villas for them in the pilot. Soon another pagoda was built and exists to this day.
        In a church hall with a 1.2 meter high Buddha stone carved gold spreads very cleverly made ​​and lively sounds from the Buddha's face.

Thang Tam Spirit communal house


In 3 forerunner villages of Vung Tau, there 3 communal house, including Spirit Communal House, Ba Ngu Hanh Temple and Ong Nam Hai Royal Tomb. Thang Tam communal house is a special cultural feature of the sea fishermen. It has both common features of Vietnamese communal houses and particular features in culture - reserves worship activities. According to historis records, this communal house was built in Minh Mang time ̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣̣(1882-1840)  This communal house still reserves ̣2 titles conferred by Nguyen dynasty to the spirits worshipped at the communal house.

Kito God Statue in Vung Tau


Located on Nui Nho at 170m altitude above sea level, this statue was built in 1974 by church, it was finished in 1993. The statue faces the sea toward the south. Its height is 32m, the arm length is 18,4m, the hand is 2.2m length, and middle fingers are 1m length. Around the statue head are 9 metal halos for both decorative and lighting conducting purposes. Inside the state, there is a spiral staircase consisting of 133 stairs. The light shining into the statue through the "Tho" -shaped window system, which is featured with Oriental style. The two sleeves actsas two safe balconies for visistors to enjoy the wind and view Vung Tau city at the altitude of 200m.
     Kito God statue was built on a concrete foundation with 04 bow-shaped angles, 10m height, 12m length. At the front the foundation is decorated with a relief simulating the "Farewell Party" by Leonard De Vinci; at the back is the picture simulating the "The God gives the key to Phero Saint". Despite being made of concrete, the artistic features shows to be gentle and  lively.

Light house in Vung Tau

Vung tau light house was first built in 1862, after the French colonials invaded three South East provinces. It is a cylinder with 18m height and 3m of diameter, in which there is a spiral staircase nearly up to the top and a way to the outside balcony to view Vung Tau city. The light house has a 1500w light bulb, its can radiate 35 sea miles ( equivalent to 65km) far thanks to a giant prism system consisting of surrounding 3-side triangle glass panels, power-motored bulb. The light house has two rays, rotates 2.4 circles every minute. At night, people can see two light rays of the lighthouse no matter where they stand.
For many years, the lighthouse is always an attractive visiting place of Vung tau because of it architectural and historical value.

Long Son Big House landscape

The entire monument was built by bricks, tiles and wood blocks into virtually connected to each other. Inside are more tables, chairs, cabinets churches, ancient percussion ... priceless. Founder descendants still retain features activities such as from about 100 years ago ...



From Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau, Ba Ria some 10 kilometers to have a beautiful road turns into Long Son island commune. It is not only famous for its oyster farming, but also a destination attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year.

         Long Son big house was established in the early of 20th century by Le Van Muu, a follower of Tu An Hieu Nghia religion in Long Son island commune, Vung Tau. The total area of this beauty spot is more than 2 ha. There are 3 main parts of Long Son Big House: Temple zone, festival house, school market, Ghe Sam reserve house and Tran tombs.
       The architeture of Long Son Big house is a lively and impresive example of the mixture between local tradingtion religion and Nho and Lao religions. Every year, there are many festivals held in Long Son Big house on the occasion of anniversary of Ong Tran's death (on 20 February lunar calendar). With festivals and traditional customs, Long Son Big house is an attractive tourism destination of Vung Tau.

Bach Dinh Beauty Spot


             Located on the side of Nui Lon, Bach Dinh is one of the beauty spots of Vung Tau city attracting most visitors. The construction of Bach Dinh started in 1898 and finished 1916 by French colonials, used as a holiday resort for the Governor of the Indochina, Paul Doumer. Bach Dinh wa name after his beloved daughter, Villa Blanche with the meaning of a white villa.
             Placed at the position of 27m above the sea level, with 3 floors of 19m height, Bach Dinh faces the sea with its back against the mountain, surrounded by the green colour of stone flowers and butt trees. Bach Dinh is featured with late 19th century European architectural style.

Old Artillery Field

This is a defending line built by French colonials over 100 years ago, successively allocated on a straight line at different altitudes from Northwest to Southeast sides of Big and Small mountains. To create absolute secure corridor put down the gateway region South east then immediate govern because of France. This artillery field consists of 3 big complexes of Cau Da, Nui Lon, an Tao Phung artillery fields with 23 guns. Cau Da field has 4 guns disposed in bow shape with the barrels pointing to Bai Truoc. Nui Lon field's function was to constrain the entire Ganh Rai bay. where the torpedo and gun cellar systems remain intact. Tao Phung field was located at the foot of Kito statue, distributed in 3 units. Vung tau's artillery fiel is the biggest old weapon collection in Indochina, with high socio-economic values and has been ranked as National historical relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Cau Da Relic, Vung tau


Cau da

           Cau Da is a road leading to the seaside, in parallel with Bai Truoc, which was built by French colonials in 1940. Nowadays, only a stone dyke of a concrete block running along Bai Truoc can be seen. Accordting to Vung Tau fishermen, Cau Da used to be French colonials pre-port dyke. Cau Da relic represents a proof of French colonial's cruelty which could be faded away or covered by sea wave and tides over 100 years.Cau Da and artillery field on Nui Nho mountain form a historical relic complex which was ranked into national level by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Niet Ban Tinh Xa, Vung Tau

Niet Ban Tinh Xa, Vung tau

           Located on the side of Nui Nho, the construction of the Niet Ban Tinh Xa started in 1969 and completed in 1974, with the area of 10,000m2. The most outstanding impression of this construction is the miture between oriental and western architectural feature. At the central chamber, there is a statue of Buddad lying on one side and looking toward the West with his foot sole to be engraved with 52 points. The statue becomes more outstanding against the background if forest, mountain and animal landscape sculptured.

            The Bat Nha ship, on the right, is decorated with many ornamental plants and the woods of Tho Da releting the tale of Grotama, the austere prince on his journey to save souls of the dead. The deck of Bat Nha has a campanile with an arched roof at four points in the shape of swords that are carved with bronze statues. There is a Giant Bell made of bronze, famous for its echo. In front of the Main Shrine, there is a big thurible with sophisticatedly joined pieces of porcelain protraying the four " Dragon - Kylin - Tortoise - Phoenix".
Niet ban Tinh Xa is a holly place, an attractive destination for visitors and tourists.

Thich Ca Phat Dai

            Being one of the most antique pagodas in Vung Tau city, Thich Ca Phat Dai is a sculpture architectural complex, which was built against the life history of Buddha from his birth to his entrance into Nivana.
          The area of this pagoda is 6 ha. The construction of the pagoda started in 1961 and finished in 1963. In the pagoda, there is a 3 meter tower which reservers the remains of the first nun. The pagoda also has famous statues such as: Phat Dan Sinh, Cat Toc Di Tu... which describe the legend of Buddha who was a prince of India, born in 623 BC. Thich Ca Phat Dai is the most typical Buddhism work of Vung Tau in particular and Vietnam in general.
